Premier Mechanical installed a new LEEDS accredited mechanical system for the new college hall building at Farmingdale State College. This new facility is approximately 20,000 square feet and is equipped with various student activity rooms, lecture halls, leisure activity areas, study areas, administrative offices and mechanical rooms. The new mechanical systems included chilled beams, an air cooled chiller plant, custom modular air handler with an energy recovery wheel, chilled water coils, hot water coils and variable air volume boxes with humidity control. The system was provided with a Johnson Metasys building management system which controls the entire mechanical system with a specific sequence of operations required for temperature and humidity control related to the chilled beam system. The chilled beam system is served by makeup air, hot water and chiller water from a variable flow pump system with mixing valves located in large basement level mechanical room.
